The Funeral Services Maribor collaborates in the project SYMBOLS - Culture of Death & Cultural Life: New audiences and creations around European Cemeteries that got supported by the EU Creative Europe Programme in 2014. The project is led by Fundación Municipal de Cultura del Ayuntamiento de Avilés (ES), other partners are from the Nebbio on Corsica (FR), Genova (IT), Dundee and Angus College (UK) and Limerick Institute of Technology (IE).

The European Cemeteries Route, an initiative of the Association of Significant Cemeteries in Europe (ASCE) is comprised of 60 cemeteries in 46 cities of 18 European countries, among them the Maribor Cemetery. It received the 2011 Ulysses Award that the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) awards annually.
