Established in 1953, this UNESCO-affiliated organisation aims to encourage co-operation amongst ceramicists throughout the world; to facilitate communication between ceramicists and museum curators, experts, connoisseurs, amateurs, cultural institutions and associations interested in the promotion of ceramic art; to encourage exhibitions of ceramics and of old and modern porcelain; and to support the work of living ceramic artists.
